MSC Forum – TODAY: Ministry Support Council (MSC) Forum. The purpose of the MSC is to provide godly leadership and sound management of FBC Cabot. It serves as a sounding board for members to ask questions and/or offer comments regarding management. The FORUM is hosted by MSC representatives and generally is available each month on the Sunday prior to the MSC meeting. If you have any questions or comments, please plan to attend the forum at noon today in the library.
It’s time to start thinking about what YOU want to do for CarolSing, December 17th at 6:30. Put together something with your family or best buds. Show us what you’ve learned on whatever instrument you play. Do a reading – a poem – handpuppets (OK – just kidding about that one). Really, this is such an amazing tradition here at First and we love seeing the kind of thing we don’t always get to see in regular worship experiences. Think outside the box and bring your ideas to Pastors Ken or Andrew.
Cabot Christmas Alliance - The annual food collection for Cabot Christmas Alliance goes through 12/03. We are specifically collecting any kind of instant potatoes and brownie mix along with other non-perishable food items. Marked donation boxes are by the main entrances of the church.
Coats for Christmas - The annual coat drive in conjunction with Cabot Christmas Alliance will be collecting coats through 11/26. Collection boxes will be located outside the Fellowship Hall and in the Commons Cup and are needed for all age groups. Please consider helping someone in need stay warm by donating a gently used coat you may no longer need.
Toy Drive – Each year we have the joy of helping many needy families have a merrier Christmas by providing toys for their children through Cabot Christmas Alliance and Christmas for Kids. FBC sponsors around 75 children by asking you to bring a new, unwrapped toy to the display in the Commons through 12/03.

Did you know we have 34 children right here in our community who have been taken from their home due to abuse or neglect yet have no one to represent their best interests in court? They need your help! CASA recruits and trains people from within the community to advocate on behalf of children in the courtroom, classroom, and the community. CASAs act as fact finders for juvenile judges by providing them with information gathered from individuals involved in the child’s life, legal documents, social worker’s files, educational, medical, and therapy records. CASAs work directly with the children, family members, school officials, attorneys, health care providers, etc, and share this information along with their recommendations to the court so that well-informed decisions can be made regarding the child’s future. If you can help one of these children, please go to www.GrandPrairieCASA.org to apply today.
