Bulletin Items for July 22-28, 2018
Back to School Fair - August 4
Once again our church is partnering with other local churches and organizations in providing needed back to school supplies for the kids in our community. We are hosting the “unmentionables” room by providing needed socks and underwear for the kids. You can help by picking up a card or two with the child’s sizes at the Ministry Table in the Commons TODAY and then return items with the card in the same place by Next Sunday. Please stop by to pick up your card(s)!!!
Nominating Committee makes service surveys available to all members of First Baptist Church to have the opportunity to indicate their willingness to serve on a leadership committee. Members who feel led to serve on a committee should fill out a Committee Questionnaire which can be found in the Commons at the Ministry Center. Questionnaires must be filled out and returned no later than Wednesday, August 1.
SummerSing is back! - and it’s going to be bigger and better than ever! That is, it will be if you participate! On Sunday night, August 19, we will gather in the Worship Center at 6:30 to hear from children, students, adults, friends, and families in whatever creative ways you can come up with to share your talent with us. Solos, duets, trios, instrumentals, drama, readings – you tell us what you have in mind and we’ll do our best to make it work. Just get with Pastor Ken ASAP to let us know what you have in mind. (And, of course, it wouldn’t be SummerSing without the watermelon outside afterwards!)
Giving Over the Summer
As summer has “officially” started, there will be many occasions that you and your family will be able to enjoy cantaloupe – at the beach, camping, the ballpark, family reunions . . . While you are away from our Sunday services enjoying your summer activities with cantaloupe, you can stay connected with your FBC family through the livestream of services on Sunday morning or watching the service later in the archives. In addition, you have several options for getting your tithes and offerings to the church. SecureGive is our electronic giving mode. With SecureGive, you can choose online giving with one-time and/or recurring donations, the SecureGive app, or text-to-give. You can also have a recurring ACH draft setup through the church office. If you want to setup ACH draft or have any other questions, email or call our Financial Ministry Assistant, Cheryl, firstname.lastname@example.org or 501.843.5472. Livestream, archives, and giving information can all be found on the FBC website, www.fbccabot.org.

Did you know we have a special needs ministry at FBC? This is currently a small ministry that has the potential to do great things for our community. 90% of families who have a child with special needs do not attend church. They feel unwelcome and afraid their child’s needs cannot be met. We have a large number of these families in Cabot. In order for us to reach this mission field, we ask for your help in two ways: 1) Pray for: wisdom, courage, open hearts, opportunities, and for volunteers 2) Volunteer! We are barely covering our volunteer needs now. If our ministry is to grow and reach more families, then we will need more volunteers. Requirements - Love God, Love People. All other training will be provided. For more information, please contact Caroline in the Children’s Ministry office at 843-5472.
Save the Dates! August 22 is registration for Children’s Wednesday Night programming. August 29 begins Wednesday night programming and August 12 is Promotion Sunday for preschool, children, and students.
